Book review: ‘Stealing Snow’

‘First kisses sometimes wake slumbering princesses, undo spells, and spark happily ever afters. Mine broke Bale’ pg 1.

The first line of any story should grab you by the throat and pull you into its story. Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige certainly succeeded. The cover design is beautiful and simple while it shows us what the main scenery is going to be.

This book is the first of a series and it follows a young teenager named Snow that has been locked up into the Whittaker psychiatric hospital by her mum. Snow soon learns that she is a princess with extraordinary ice powers. Down in Australia, it’s heating up fast and to read this during that time kept me somewhat cool, tricking my mind into the feel of Icy cold weather. I can proudly say I survived summer. I won’t give much of the plot away but it’s about Snow controlling her powers while in another world filled with ice.

This was an easy read with short and sweet chapters. This book would be a great start for new readers into fantasy and world-building.

‘If you like cold weather, magical fights and witches. Read this.’

I was disappointed about the confusing four-way love ‘cube’ but in the end, that’s what made it interesting and it kept me reading.

I loved the big twist at the end, but I will be nice, and I won’t spoil it for you, all I can say is that Bale is never too far away.
